The women that have had Yeast infections in the past, know that it is not a comfortable feeling and for way too many it is a too familiar and too common a feeling. Yeast infections typically begin with a tingling and then the yeast grows until it becomes very uncomfortable. For many, the itching is the worst part, but the burning sensation is certainly not pleasant. Some people complain that Yeast infections cause a very offensive odor. And to be quite frank, any strong odor coming from the vaginal area is likely to be undesirable. Yep. Believe it or not, Yeast, just like us, has a sweet tooth.

Yeast needs sugar to thrive, but refined sugar is particularly helpful for yeast growth. By refined Sugar we mean white sugar which you find in most sugar bowls and in one form or another is added to just about any processed food that you buy. This sugar has all the beneficial components, fiber, minerals, and vitamins stripped out and what you are left with is just pure calories. If you are eating processed sugar often, you are providing yeast with a pure food that helps it grow out of control, which after all what a Yeast infection is, runaway yeast growth. By reducing your intake of processed sugar you can greatly reduce the amount of ready food for the yeast.

Keep in mind, that there is sugar in one form or another in most every food type of food we eat and your body certainly needs and uses this sugar, but there is a big difference in ingesting sugar from a banana and sugar in a Pop-Tart. Sugar in of itself is not bad, but the sugar in a banana is natural. There is nothing natural about the sugar in a Pop-Tart. If you've not looked at the ingredients of a lot of packaged foods, you are in for a bit of a shock. High Fructose Corn Syrup, which is just another form of processed sugar is added to so many foods, it would be impossible to list them here. It would be far easier to list the processed and packaged foods that don't contain sugar. In fact, the list of breakfast cereals without added sugar is very short. A recent review of the local supermarket revealed only one type of cereal - shredded wheat, that contained no sugar. Even the brands that identified themselves as "healthy," "diet," and "low fat" were loaded with sugar.

One of the best things you can do if you're struggling with repeated yeast infections is to modify your diet to eliminate processed sugar and eat more natural foods. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and the closer to raw that you eat them, the better. The natural sugar from the fruit will provide your body with enough sugar, along with vitamins, minerals and fiber but it will not usually be enough to overstimulate the yeast and cause a Yeast infection. A diet rich in processed sugar is just one of the many causes of Yeast infections, but it is one that is easily remedied. Besides reducing the likelihood of Yeast Infections there are a lot of other positive benefits to eliminating processed sugar. Some health Zeolots have gone so far as to say that processed sugar is a poison to your body. Perhaps this characterization is a bit strong for us, but there is a whole list of ill effects of processed sugar and only one positive - it taste good. So, there are plenty of reasons to eliminate it from your diet forever; limiting Yeast Infections is just one more.

Yeast Infection Remedy Apple Cider Vinegar

Most yeast infections are caused by Candida Albicans, but there are actually many types of yeast.  Although yeast live inside and outside your body your entire life, only in the right conditions does it cause any problems.  Usually, this is because there is some issue in our body and it is no longer able to fight the yeast growth off naturally.

There are many natural ways to treat yeast infections.  One of the most popular  yeast infection remedies is Apple cider vinegar.   When I first heard this, I thought it was a topical application of vinegar that would work. Slathering Apple cider down there is not a pleasant thought.  Fortunately, I was wrong and it’s the consumption of vinegar that will help alleviate the yeast outbreak.  Now for most of us drinking vinegar of any type is pretty distasteful, but you only have to take a spoonful a day to have an effect.  You can mix it with tea or water or what I do, sugar-free lemon-aide.

Apple cider vinegar works by bringing your body back into natural balance, but it also has other health benefits as well.  There are some people who swear by apple cider vinegar and say that it keeps them from getting the normal colds and other common ailments.  I can't say for certain that Apple Cider is a remedy for anything other than a yeast infection, but if so all the better.

This vinegar solution has worked for many people over the years and even though it seems, perhaps too simple a yeast infection remedy, there are people who will tell you it has made a tremendous difference in their life.  Often the best solutions are the most simple, so please give Apple Cider vinegar a chance to rid you of yeast infections, forever.
